How we choose
We are not a booking platform. We take no money from the places on this list, and nobody can pay to be added to it. Here is exactly how the twenty were picked.
The criteria
It has to be somewhere you would tell a friend about
Not “adequate”. Not “good value”. Somewhere specific enough that you would name it unprompted when someone asks where to go.
Independent recognition, cited
Every award we mention links to its source — Campsites.co.uk, the AA, TGO, RIBA, the Scottish Thistle Awards. If we cannot link it, we do not claim it.
Bookable direct wherever the owner allows it
We link to the official site first, always. Where a platform is the only route, we say so on the listing.
All four nations, both categories
Cabins and campsites, spread across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. A list of twenty English places would be easier and less useful.
Re-checked quarterly
Prices drift and seasons change. Every listing carries the date we last verified it, and we go back round every three months.
On money
At launch we earn nothing from any link on this site. If that changes — an affiliate arrangement, a paid partnership — we will label it on the link itself and say so here, because UK CMA rules require it and because you would spot it anyway.
Nobody can buy a place on this list. If that ever becomes possible it will be a separate, clearly-marked section, not a quiet reordering of this one.
