Wild Cabins Kinvara

Kinvara, County Galway, Connacht

Two-person off-grid cabins hidden inside a fifty-acre organic nature sanctuary on the edge of the Burren.

Why we love it

The cabins sit inside the Burren Nature Sanctuary, a fifty-acre organic farm outside Kinvara, and the sanctuary's own visitor map marks them "no access" — they exist only for the people staying in them. Inside is closer to Kyoto than Connacht: a single panoramic window, a log burner, a small kitchenette, and very little else.

Genuinely off-grid rather than decoratively so. Solar on the roof, filtration for the water, a willow bed dealing with the greywater. There is no wifi, which is the point.

Best for: two people who want the door shut on everything
