Oto, Huesca, The Pyrenees
Family-run in a stone village in the Aragonese Pyrenees, ten kilometres from Ordesa.
Oto is a small stone village in the Ara valley, and the campsite is in it rather than on a bypass outside it — which changes the character of an evening considerably. Ten kilometres away is the Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido, the Spanish Pyrenees' great glacial trench and one of the oldest national parks in Europe.
Family-run, and a sensible base for a week of walking rather than a single day trip.
Best for: Ordesa, and the villages around it
The turning is off the N-260 at Broto. The operator publishes road routes only: 323 km from Barcelona via Lleida, Barbastro, Aínsa, Boltaña and Fiscal; 348 km from Bilbao via Pamplona, Jaca and Sabiñánigo; 498 km from Madrid via Zaragoza, Huesca and Sabiñánigo.
