Clifden EcoBeach Park

Clifden, County Galway, Connacht

Camping on the shore outside Clifden, on the Claddaghduff road.

Why we love it

Clifden is the capital of Connemara in the way that a town of fifteen hundred people can be, and this site is out on the Claddaghduff road with the shore in front of it. Tents, caravans and motorhomes, plus tipis to rent for anyone travelling without canvas.

The Sky Road loop starts in Clifden and is worth the hour it takes.

Best for: a first or last night in Connemara
