Why we love it

Connemara is the part of Ireland that most reliably looks like the pictures, and this site sits in the middle of it — the Twelve Bens behind, the Atlantic and its islands in front, Connemara National Park close enough for a day on the hill.

Pitches suit tents and smaller campervans rather than large caravans, which keeps the character of the place intact.

Best for: the Twelve Bens, and the light on the water afterwards

Worth knowing

  • Reception closes at 8pm; a late arrival fee of €20 applies after that and nothing is accepted after 9.30pm.
  • Camp fires and ground BBQs are banned and carry a €100 fine — only BBQs raised well off the ground.
  • The kitchen is for washing up and eating: there is no cooking or BBQ facility in it.
