Why we love it
Hungry Hill is the highest of the Caha Mountains and it rises straight out of the back of the site at Adrigole, which is a fair summary of the Beara Peninsula generally: mountains that start where the road stops. The Beara Way passes close by.
Family-run, with pitches, a lodge, a log cabin, a stone cottage, a pod and a trekkers' hut — the last of which tells you what kind of guest they are used to.
Best for: walkers on the Beara Way, and anyone avoiding the Ring of Kerry traffic
Worth knowing
- Arrivals after 8pm are not possible unless requested in advance, and incur an extra fee.
- Dogs are allowed on the campsite and in the stone cottage only — not in the lodge rooms, log cabin or pod — and must be on a short lead at all times.
- The electric hook-ups will not charge an electric car; EV charging is at a designated parking area and is paid for.
