Why we love it
Radical architect-designed hideouts on stilts in a disused slate quarry above the Atlantic. Wild swim in quarry lakes, share the fire pit and sauna, surf at Trebarwith Strand below. One of the most photographed landscape stays in Britain and a pioneer of the UK "landscape hotel". Genuinely off-grid. Book direct.

Worth knowing
- Their own terms describe a site with open water, high drops and rugged terrain, and the Danish Cabin is a ten-minute hike from reception.
- It is off-grid and proudly so: reception is the only place you can charge a phone all stay, and the kitchen, showers and flushing toilets are all communal.
- Dogs are not currently allowed to stay on site, and there are no refunds — a cancelled stay becomes a voucher to redeem within 24 months, less a £35 admin fee inside four weeks.

Getting there
Kudhva, Sanding Road, Trebarwith Strand, Tintagel, Cornwall PL34 0HH. Arrivals on site are between 3pm and 7pm. The Danish Cabin is a ten-minute hike from reception; K2 is the closest, at the end of a grass tract, and K3 is tucked just east of the reception building.
Who runs it
Louise acquired the site in 2015 with a stated vision to revive and restore its natural ecosystems and invest in sustainable land management. Kudhva sits in a long-abandoned Cornish slate quarry.
