Nagle's Doolin Camping & Caravan Park

Doolin, County Clare, Munster

Family-run and a hundred metres from Doolin Pier, between the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren.

Why we love it

Position is the entire argument. Nagle's is a hundred metres from Doolin Pier, which means the Aran Islands ferry is a walk rather than a drive, the Cliffs of Moher path starts up the coast, and the Burren begins behind you. Doolin's pubs — the reason a lot of people come to Clare at all — are close enough to walk back from.

Family-run, with pitches, pods and mobile homes. It is a working campsite rather than a designed one, and it does not pretend otherwise.

Best for: using as a base, not as the destination

Worth knowing

  • A strict noise curfew from 10pm, and barbecues must stop by then too.
  • Open fires are not permitted under any circumstances.
  • The grocery and camping shop only opens from 1 June to 31 August.

Getting there

Without a car
