St Agnes, Isles of Scilly, England
Britain's most spectacular pitch: a tiny working dairy farm on England's most south-westerly inhabited island, tents metres from the Atlantic.
Britain's most spectacular pitch: a tiny working dairy farm on England's most south-westerly inhabited island, tents metres from the Atlantic, views to Bishop Rock Lighthouse, farm-made ice cream and zero cars — you arrive by boat. A perennial Guardian/Times best-campsite pick. Book direct.
The campsite is an easy fifteen-minute walk from the quay, and there are no cars on the island. Reach St Agnes by the Scillonian from Penzance — about two hours forty minutes, daily Monday to Saturday March to November with Sunday sailings in summer — or fly to St Mary's from Newquay, Land's End or (spring to autumn) Exeter, then take the Spirit of St Agnes across, fifteen minutes, every day except Sundays. Keep each bag to around 20kg.
