Wave Crest Caravan & Camping

Caherdaniel, County Kerry, Munster

Informal, family-run pitches on the rocks above the sea on the Ring of Kerry.

Why we love it

Wave Crest is on the Ring of Kerry at Caherdaniel, and the pitches nearest the water are close enough that the sea is the only thing you can hear. Family-run and deliberately informal — it has never tried to be a resort, and the Ring has plenty of those.

Derrynane beach and Derrynane House are a short drive along the coast.

Best for: waking up with the Atlantic directly in front of the tent

Worth knowing

  • Wi-Fi is not the park's: it is run by an outside company and paid for separately, by the hour, day or week.
  • Showers run on a €1 token that lasts about four minutes.
  • One car per pitch; a second is €5 a night and parks away from you.
