Campfires allowed

Rarer than you would think. Most sites ban open fires outright, so these are the ones where you can actually sit around one after dark.

Questions people actually ask

Why do so few campsites allow fires?
Fire risk, ground damage and neighbours. The sites that do allow them almost always confine fires to raised pits or designated spots, and sell the wood themselves so nothing green or treated gets burnt.
Can I bring my own firewood?
Usually not. Most sites ask you to buy theirs, both to control what gets burnt and to avoid importing tree pests.
