Why we love it
Bohuslän is the granite coast north of Gothenburg — bare pink rock, wooden fishing villages, and water everywhere. This site occupies a forested slope above it, with cottages, safari tents and caravan pitches, and swimming, kayaking and fishing from the shore below.
Close enough to Gothenburg for a long weekend, and to Norway for a detour.
Best for: the west coast rocks, and swimming off them
Worth knowing
- Of the roughly 200 pitches most are let to seasonal caravans; about 40 are kept back for guests staying a night or two.
- There is no pool and no children's club; the operator points anyone wanting those, or a party, to the neighbouring sites instead.
- The restaurant is open daily only from midsummer to the end of week 34, then Thursday to Saturday through September and October.

Trains and buses reach Ljungskile from Gothenburg roughly once an hour in the daytime. The nearest bus stop, Hummervägen by Lyckorna golf club, leaves about 1.2 km to walk; the site can usually arrange a pick-up from the station if you book it with your stay. On foot it is about 4 km from Ljungskile along the Kuststigen coast path, past the old Lyckorna spa houses and the golf course. There are a few visitor moorings at the site's small-boat jetties, maximum 2.5 tonnes, with no jet skis.

Walks
- Stora Skarsjön · 3.1 miles — An 8 km day circuit on Bredfjället with barbecue spots, swimming and a view over the lake. The walk starts about 5 km from reception.
- Kuststigen — The waymarked coast path runs right past reception; stage 4 heads north through the old Lyckorna spa resort to Ljungskile, stage 5 south to the Kolhättan ferry.
Towns
- Ljungskile — About 4 km along the coast path, with trains and buses to Gothenburg roughly hourly by day.
Days out
- Bredfjället · 5.3 miles — Forest and bog rising to nearly 200 metres east of Ljungskile, crossed by stage 11 of the Bohusleden. The outdoor centre car park is about 8.5 km from reception.
- Lyckorna Golfklubb — Laid out on Anfasteröd's own former pasture in 1975; the Grindstugan apartments are 50 metres from the first tee.
Who runs it
Hanna and Magnus
Two engineers who left industry and the city to take this on. Hanna is the fourth generation of a family that has looked after Anfasteröd for a hundred years; Magnus comes from a farm outside Habo. They have been building the holiday park since 2017, with a summer team of around 35.
