Moskenes Camping

Moskenes, Nordland, Northern Norway

Tent pitches at the far end of Lofoten, between the ferry quay and the mountains.

Why we love it

Moskenes is close to the end of the Lofoten road, next to the ferry that runs across the Vestfjorden to Bodø, and within walking distance of Å — the village whose name is the last letter of the Norwegian alphabet and, appropriately, the last place on the archipelago.

The site is plain: grass, mountains straight up on one side, sea on the other. In a landscape this loud, plain is the correct answer.

Best for: the last few kilometres of Lofoten, and the ferry out

Worth knowing

  • Cabins carry a three-night minimum and can only be booked by email or through the form on the site — there is no online cabin booking.
  • Tent pitches are drop-in only, first come first served.
  • Only seven of the pitches are available without an electric hook-up, and booking online adds NOK 40.
