Wicklow Way Camping

Oldbridge, County Wicklow, Leinster

Ten semi-private pitches and a sauna, directly on the Wicklow Way near Roundwood.

Why we love it

Ten pitches. That is the whole site, and it is the reason to go. Wicklow Way Camping opened in 2021 on the long-distance path itself, near Roundwood, which puts it in the rare category of Irish campsites built around walkers rather than around caravans.

There is a sauna, bookable in forty-five-minute sessions, which after a day on the Wicklow Way is less of a luxury than it sounds. An hour from Dublin, and it does not feel it.

Best for: walking the Wicklow Way without carrying a week of food
